Goa Beaches
VARCA BEACH
Touted as being one of the most opulent and exotic beaches that Goa has to offer…the ubiquitous soft sands juxtaposed with the black lava rocks makes Varca a darling for weary travellers. Clean…it offers greater privacy than most other beaches. Nature is virtually unspoilt over here and you can really indulge yourself in some soul searching and moments of peace.
Along with the usual relaxing and rejuvenating activities like sun bathing you may indulge in Dolphin watching and boat trips. There are several restaurants that offer excellent seafood at reasonable prices and good service.
CANACONA BEACH
The soothing beach of Canacona unquestionably attracts visitors with its tranquil atmosphere against the picturesque backdrop of the Sahyadri Hills. The hills are part of the Catigao Wildlife Sanctuary…therefore heightening Canacona’s quality of being the great escape. It is also the entryway to countless southern tip beaches of Goa together with Agonda and Palolem.
CHAPORA BEACH
Another small fishing village that has withstood the onslaught of commercialization…Chapora beach has managed to retain its rustic charm through the relentless efforts of its villagers. Snuggled under a thick covering of coconut trees…this coastal jewel is a serene visit. The glorious Chapora Fort that is now in ruins still provides a mystical old world charm to the place. One can also see the sandy coves and rocky cliffs of the nearby Vagator Beach while at Chapora.
Swimming at the Chapora beach is not often considered safe as the undercurrents are sometimes very strong. There are a number of restaurants and beach cafes near the Chapora beach that serve some tasty seafood and drinks. |
