Trekking in India

Trekking is the most preferred adventure sport in India, a land endowed with snow-bound peaks, crystal glaciers, rolling meadows, jagged rock faces, scenic valleys, meandering rivers, cascading waterfalls, dense forests and hospitable people with a rich culture, a country bestowed with many trekking alleys.

We offer trekking options in Ladakh region (Jammu & Kashmir), Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim.

LADAKH (Jammu & Kashmir)
Ladakh constitutes the eastern-most part of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. This is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful parts of the state and its surreal landscape has often been termed as "moonscape". Ladakh covers about 117,000 square km and includes the Karakoram Range and the upper Indus River valley. Ladakh is one of the highest places on earth with average altitude being above 12,000 feet. It hardly rains here because of the lofty surrounding mountain ranges. People live a very traditional life, herding sheep and yak, and growing barley near the river beds in summer. Most of the people here are Lamaistic Buddhist.

Tucked between two highest mountain ranges in the world, the Karakoram and the Greater Himalayas, Ladakh offers adventure that is a cut above any in the world. With barren crags, an occasional green valley, jewel like waterways and mountains of different hues deepened by the sharp sun, this high altitude destination is punctuated by colorful thrills and adventure challenges at every step. Renowned for its surreal remote mountain beauty and Tibetan Buddhist culture, it is sometimes called "Little Tibet".

Just visiting the monasteries that dot this region is a unique experience in itself. The high altitude brackish water lakes of Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri, the world's highest motorable pass Khardungla are a great draw. The Ladakh valley once provided the link between India and Afghanistan as a part of the Silk Route.
