Symbols of a bygone era these monuments are proof of advanced architectural skills and the capability to create massive structures without the use of any modern construction equipment or technology. Each fort with its palaces has an impressive history that is waiting to be discovered many times over. Built on hilltops, standing amidst an endless desert or perched on an island in a lake these imposing structures vary from each other with their own individual charm and charisma.

Day 01

Arrive Delhi

Land in Delhi where our representative meets you and assists transfer to the hotel. Check-in and stay overnight.

Day 02

New Delhi

Post-breakfast visit to old and new Delhi with its medieval and modern cultures. The sights include Jama Masjid (mosque) built in the 17th century, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, the Red Fort, Humanyun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and a drive past government buildings in Lutyen’s Delhi. Overnight in New Delhi.

Day 03

New Delhi – Agra

Drive to Agra after breakfast. After your hotel check in visit Red Fort. Your viewing of the Taj Mahal is at sunset, the best time with the ambient light being soft and gentle. Overnight in Agra. Note: Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.

Day 04

Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur, after breakfast visiting Fatehpur Sikri on the way. A world Heritage Site and the erstwhile capital of Mughal dynasty under Akbar, Fatherpur Sikri had to be abandoned due to scarcity of water. Arrive in Jaipur and check in at hotel. Visit a Hindy temple to witness evening prayers. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 05


Proceed on Jaipur city sightseeing post breakfast starting with an excursion to the Amer fort - one of the most fascinating Indian forts. Reach the fort majestically atop an elephant; once inside, visit the Palace of Mirrors, Hall of Public Audience and the beautifully manicured gardens. Photo stop at Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds) on the way back to the hotel for lunch. In the evening visit a grand Hindu temple to witness the evening prayers. Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 06

Jaipur – Bikaner

Drive to Bikaner after breakfast visiting the quaint village of Fatehpur en route to see a renovated haveli (residence) with frescoes of the Sekhawati region. Arrive Bikaner and check in. Later visit Junagarh Fort and Museum. Overnight in Bikaner.

Day 07

Bikaner – Jaisalmer

After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer and visit the Deshnok Temple – famous for its rats – on the way. Arrive Jaisalmer and visit the cenotaphs built in remembrance of Brahmin families. Witness a panoramic view of Jaisalmer city during sunset. The rays of the sun fall on the fort and city turning it golden in colour. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 08

Post breakfast visit Jaisalmer Fort, Jain temples, carved havelis, Gadi Sagar lank and museum, Amar Sagar lake, the ancient capital of Lodurva and the cenotaphs of the rulers of Jaisalmer at Bada Bagh. In the evening, drive to Sam Desert, 40 km towards the border with Pakistan. A 1-hour camel ride takes you into the core area of desert where your witness the sun going down amidst local folk musicians. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Day 09

Jaisalmer – Jodhpur

After breakfast, leave by road for Jodhpur – the Blue City. Stop at Osiyan on the way to visit famous Jain Temples. Arrive Jodhpur and check in. Later explore the famous Clock Tower market and visit Mehrangarh Fort. It might be possible to take a Jeep safari to a Bishnoi Village nearby to witness the Opium ceremony performed at the house of the village head. Overnight in Jodhpur.

Day 10

Jodhpur – Ghanerao

Leave by road for Ghanerao – a village of a royal family that still resides there. Upon arrival, check in at the royal castle. If possible, undertake a short hike to a Forest Lodge for high tea and return to the castle by car or horseback. Overnight in Ghanerao.

Day 11

Ghanerao – Deogarh

heck in at the Palace hotel and go on a rural ramble to experience village life. Overnight at Deogarh.

Day 12

Deogarh – Udaipur

Leave for Udaipur – the city of lakes – after breakfast visiting the Ranakpur Jain temples and Kumbhalgarh Fort on the way. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 13


After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Udaipur city visiting the City Palace, the largest in Rajasthan and the medieval Jagdish temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Sahelion-ki-bari, the Garden of Maids. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride during sunset hours on Lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur.

Day 14

Udaipur – Mumbai

Board morning flight to Mumbai after breakfast. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Visit Elephanta Islands by ferry (subject to weather). Later embark on a trip to Crawford Market, Prince of Wales Museum and Dhobi Ghat. OVernight in Mumbai.

Day 15

Mumbai – Onward Destination

Board flight to onward destination after breakfast.

Two weeks of intense Rajasthan with a bit of Agra right in the beginning. That is what this itinerary is all about. You cover all the important outposts and take in the major structures. Ranging from the dry Jaisalmer to the lake city of Udaipur. The hidden gem of Bikaner to the world famous pink city of Jaipur.
